The Second Annual Nine & Dine Event

Palm Coast’s first golf course, now called Palm Harbor, is nifty at 50 and the Palm Coast Historical Society planned an event to celebrate. The Nine & Dine Golf Event on Monday, October 25 had a shotgun start that kicked off at 3:30 pm. Unlike the official opening hosted in 1971 by the developers at International Telephone and Telegraph, the Historical Society organizers did not use a real shotgun.
Renowned golf course architect Bill Amick of Daytona Beach designed the course and returned to participate in the commemorative celebration. Proceeds from raffles, silent auction items, and other sponsors benefited the Palm Coast Historical Society, established in 2000. Historical exhibits of renowned players, past tournaments, and other memorabilia are on display at the event and at the Palm Coast Historical Society Museum in Holland Park, open Wednesday and Saturday from 1–3 PM or upon request.
